Dr. Niyaf has questioned the integrity of the truth behind the stories being published in MMW. Dr. Niyaf says:
mmw, I have just checked out your site. There are a few issues of conflicting interest for me. I would urge you to ensure that what you write is not just rumors and personal attacks on individuals. It should be the truth, not just stories.
You have misunderstood my remarks to a C-box invitation to visit “mmw” site and to join in the discussion.
As I have said; I did visit the blog. I can neither confirm nor contradict the legitimacy of the entire stories posted. I do not intend to pursue that avenue.
Joining the discussion could raise issues of conflict of interest to me. My point of view on issues related to IGMH and other health service institutes may be considered biased one way or the other. I may be seen to be unreasonably supportive of IGMH, because I work there. Alternatively in light of events of last year I may be though to have a bone to pick with IGMH.
I urged “mmw” to ensure truthfulness in their stories because I understand how falsehood could damage someone’s reputation and potential to do good for the community.
I intend to use my own blog and website to post my views and opinions. I am obviously making an exception here.
NB: I acknowledge that the references to my name in the stories are factual. The rest of the story; I cannot confirm or contradict. However, the comment made in my name (there may be more than a few “Niyafs” around) on a resignation call was not made by me .
Should we say anything? Is there any need for it?
We will repeat what we have been saying before: we will investigate every report we get, as best we can, and publish only those that we are convinced holds water!
