I respect other cultures, I am taking a cultural diversity class at columbus state community college in ohio right now. I understand that certain cultures have certain traditions, like how in America most men are circumsized at birth. This could be seen as torture to other societies. I think that this is wrong. For both sexes, yes, for a male it is easier to keep his member clean without a forskin, but it should be that persons decision. I compare these practises to abortion. Only because in these circumstances, the child is not making a decision for himself or herself. The families who practice this see this as normal, but do these families practice abortion?? That's what I would like to know. If they do not believe in abortion then they are very hypocritical to think that they can make a decision like this, to cut off and sew up an important part to the reproductive system for a women. This is torture. At least when boys are circumsized in America they are babies, therefore they won't remember the pain, but this girl is 3??? Come on, I see it all as being ridiculous. Treat other human beings with respect, especially your children, because one day they will be the ones taking care of your old wrinkly ass.
p.s.-when boys are circumsized, removing the foreskin doesn't affect his sexual pleasure, but removing a girls clit, completely ruins the experience of sex.

I felt extremely moved by watching this clip. I am already aware of what happens in Daarfur and during Genocide, and this is almost enough to be labeled a genocide. I have learned that FGm is just as serious as Darfur, or even the war in Iraq. If people don't do anything to stop this, then it could continue in Africa until the entire population is wiped out. People need to learn about this and do something to stop it before it gets out of control.

BY the way, GOD does not like any of us. He has programmed all of us (in our genes) to age, get diseased and die. That is if we don't get unfairly killed before that!

For someone who writes much on health you seem to know far too little about healthcare.
Gentamicin does, as an idiosyncratic reaction, cause hearing loss even if the correct dose is used in a condition that requires its use. The court heard in this case that the infection for which it was given could be empirically treated with it, that the dose used was calculated correctly, that the administration was correct and that the hearing loss that happened, one that pains all of us, was NOT a result of either deliberate intent to harm, neglect or malpractice!
The idiosyncratic hearing loss associated with Gentamicin is very infrequent. Much too infrequent to prevent its use in conditions that make it so very useful in the very vast majority of situations that require it.
The concern, if at all to be raised, would be the apparent failure by the doctor for not having mentioned the rarest of occurrence of hearing loss with even the correct use of the medicine. But then again, should a doctor present each and every (even the rarest) side effects every time a medicine is prescribed? All medicine synthetic or natural have side effects. Some of the common ones have so many that describing them all would take hours at a stretch. One would hope that it is possible to inform patients about all side effects, but in reality that may not be practical or feasible. However, if a significant risk is there, then it must be stated and information provided.
A terrible outcome need not necessarily alway be the result of culpable negligence! Bad outcomes do happen even when there is the very best intentions and even when best practices are followed.
Like you have done: blame GOD for he created all of us imperfect! And blame the medicine too!
I agree that there is a need to support the family to finance the treatment that the child need to address (as best possible) the damage that has occurred. It is hugely expensive.

Yes! That's true! It was also the parents fault if their child will be prone to sex. And once that they've try it, they will do it again for sure! The parents should be responsible of their childs virginity, right? There is no malitious thinking of explaining them what sex really means! Sex should only be done by a husband and a wife!
